This painting was produced when Peter was artist-in-residence at the Sainsbury Centre in 2006. 'At the time there was an exhibition of work by Francis Bacon and the gallery was very busy. The style of the people in my painting of the exhibition has been compared to Lowry's stick figures. I painted them like this because the figures were easier to sketch this way. I am always thinking of movement of figures at a particular moment in time.' Peter Sek - 2008

'This painting shows the reception after the wedding with people happy and dancing together. There is no background to the painting as I focused on the movement of the people and took this movement out to the brush strokes in the background.'
